What can a website see from my IP address?

More than most people expect. ip.notb.st shows what your IP address alone gives away: roughly where you are (country, region, city and postal code), your internet provider and its network number (ASN), and your timezone. Every website you visit can look up the same. A VPN swaps these for the VPN server's details.
